Wednesday 2022 Based on the Adams Family Coming to Netflix
Based on the character originally created by Charles Addams, “Wednesday” is a young adult television series described as a supernaturally infused mystery tracing Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. She attempts to harness her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous murder spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that entangled her parents 25 years ago. Wednesday on Netflix is on the way! She’s creepy and wacky and mysterious and creepy and now Wednesday Addams is back for her own show. Wednesday is directed by Tim Burton and stars YOU, actress Jenna Ortega in the title role, while Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán play Wednesday’s famous parents, Gomez and Morticia Addams. Other famous actors include Gwendoline Christie and even the star of the film version Christina Ricci (see below for new characters in the franchise). The eight-part comedy-drama series will show the iconic character from The Addams Family in a whole new light.
Netflix has already shared an image of an excited Jenna Ortega posing with the script on social media. On Instagram, Jenna wrote, “New chapter. Hope I can do Wednesday Addams justice.” Wednesday on Netflix delves into the titular figure’s days as a student at Nevermore Academy in the small town of Jericho, where she has both friends and enemies! She has to navigate new and highly tangled relationships, master her emerging psychic ability, and thwart a monstrous murder spree that terrorizes the local school. And if that wasn’t enough, Wednesday must also solve the supernatural mystery that engulfed her parents 25 years ago.
