Thirteen Lives 2022 Movie Review Trailer Online

Director: Ron Howard
Writers: William Nicholson, Don MacPherson
Stars: Joel Edgerton, Colin Farrell, Viggo Mortensen

The first trailer for Ron Howard’s Thirteen Lives, about the rescue mission to save 12 boys and their soccer coach trapped in a flooded Thai cave, has been released.

Colin Farrell and Mortensen play scuba divers John Volanthen and Richard Stanton, respectively. The two men were part of the 2018 rescue mission that found the 13 people alive about 2.5 miles from the mouth of the cave. Various options were discussed to extract the group, but when it started to rain, the rescue team decided to extract the children one by one by knocking them unconscious and swimming through the tunnels with them. Jason Mallinson (played by Paul Gleeson in the film), Chris Jewell (Tom Bateman), Richard Harris (Joel Edgerton) and Craig Challen were also part of the mission.

Between July 8 and 10, all the children were rescued from the cave. The rescue effort involved more than 10,000 people from around the world. A Royal Thai Navy SEAL died of suffocation during a rescue attempt on July 6. In December 2019, another Thai Navy SEAL died from a blood infection contracted during the rescue operation.

The world was transfixed by the story of the Thai soccer team in 2018, as great efforts were made to save a group of children trapped in a flooded cave. While many may already be familiar with the results of the story, the upcoming film Thirteen Lives will dramatize the details of the rescue and the incredible efforts of the group of divers, rescue teams, and volunteers involved.

This isn’t the first movie to depict the events surrounding the Thai soccer team, as the 2021 documentary The Rescue (now available to stream on Disney Plus) was one of the best-reviewed movies of that year. But if documentaries aren’t necessarily your thing, then get ready to watch the story unfold as a major Hollywood production featuring some of the best in the business.

“It was definitely a feat, he reminded me, not nearly as dangerous as the actual analog fires in Backdraft, but kind of intricate and painstaking to try to pull off,” Howard said. “It also reminded me a bit of our filming without real weight on Apollo 13, where we went up in the KC-135, which is called the vomit comet, which astronauts use to train and scientists use to test weightlessness and its effects. in all kinds of things. And we shot all the master shots of the weightlessness of Apollo 13 in the capsule of that KC-135. So this was another one of those kinds of physical film challenges.”
