The psychological horror film The Twin 2022, which will stream exclusively on Shudder, has just received an official trailer. The new trailer for The Twin begins with Rachel (Palmer) exploring her new residence with her young son, Elliot, and finding a strange little door in the house. When an older woman asks why she moved, Rachel recalls a car accident that claimed the life of her other son Nathan, Elliot’s twin. Soon, Elliot starts talking to the air and looking at Rachel while she is in bed in the middle of the night. It begins to become clear that something nefarious is taking over the family, and a voiceover can be heard saying that something other than Nathan’s spirit is visiting Elliot. As the trailer progresses, disturbing images, including someone hitting their head on a frame, flash across the screen.
The script for The Twin 2022 is written by Mustonen and Aleksi Hyvärinen, who have worked together many times before. Hyvärinen is also serving as the film’s producer. The film participated in the Frontières Platform, co-directed by the Fantasia International Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film. It was also named the best fiction film at the Danish Film Affair and won the best project award at the BIFAN in South Korea. -The Twin will be released in theaters, on-demand and digitally on May 6, the same day it opens on Shudder.
