Series creator Loren Bouchard is directing the film with Bernard Derriman, based on a screenplay he wrote with Nora Smith. The big-screen animated musical will give more insight into Bob’s origin story with his parents, in particular his mother.
“The Bob’s Burgers Movie” will also finally reveal what is hiding under Louise’s signature hat. The trailer opens with a salacious montage of the burger toppings before moving on to Belcher family matriarch Linda (voiced by John Roberts) donning a uniform that combines a burger costume and a polka dot bikini.
Billed as a “musical-mystery-adventure comedy,” “The Bob’s Burgers Movie” will follow the Belchers’ trials after a sinkhole opens in front of their Bob’s Burgers restaurant, separating the family (and their customer) from the source. of his livelihood. The film was originally scheduled to be released in the summer of 2020, but the pandemic forced Disney and 20th Century Studios to delay it several times. Ultimately, Bouchard was determined that the film would be released on the big screen rather than on a streaming platform.
“We talked about [the broadcast] as far as the movie went and we decided we really wanted the movie to come out in theaters because ‘Bob’s’ is already on TV,” he told EW in 2020. “We’re excited about ‘Bob’s’.” the movie that you see in the theater, in the dark with other people, because that’s something we’ve never been able to do before.
