The Disney+ animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch will premiere its second season on the streaming site in fall 2022. The news was announced Sunday during a panel with the cast and creatives at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim.
Revolving around the experimental and elite Bad Batch clones first introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the series was renewed in August 2021 just before the Season 1 finale in two parts.
Continuing right after the events of the Clone Wars, the members of the Bad Batch, each possessing a unique rare ability that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew, take on mercenary missions as they struggle to keep up with each other. float and find a new purpose.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2 was announced ahead of the first season’s two-part finale that may have set up Palpatine’s return in The Rise of Skywalker.
The Bad Batch is just one of many animated projects currently in the works in that galaxy far, far away and sits alongside Star Wars: Visions, which has just been confirmed for a second season, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, and the High Republic Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures children’s program.
The Bad Batch voice cast includes Dee Bradley Baker, Archie Panjabi, Michelle Ang, Rhea Perlman, Bobby Moynihan, Freddie Prinze Jr., Taran Killiam, Seth Green and more.
“I really love the choice to center the story around a boy. To find not only the path of soldiers, but also how to raise a child to find the superpower of him as this world changes from the Republic,” said Baker.
Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Brad Rau (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance), Jennifer Corbett (Star Wars Resistance, NCIS) and Carrie Beck (The Mandalorian, Star Wars Rebels) are executive producing the series, which is executive produced by Josh Rimes (Star Wars Resistance) and Alex Spotswood (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels).
