South Park: The Streaming Wars arrives as South Park celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2022. Fans have already enjoyed a six-episode season 25 of the animated series, while in addition to South Park: The Streaming Wars, a fourth exclusive Paramount Plus has also been announced, albeit only with a “later this summer” window for a debut.
“The Streaming Wars,” which premieres on June 1 at 12 a.m. m. PT, is the third installment of 14 TV movies that “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have in the works as part of a $900 million deal with ViacomCBS. The deal, which the duo signed last year, also promises six new seasons of “South Park” to air on Comedy Central through 2027.
Eric Cartman has clashed with just about everyone in South Park over the years, but in The Streaming Wars he may have finally found his match: his own mother. The show’s final full-length special premieres on Wednesday, June 1, and promises to be one of the most exciting television events of the year.
Instead, the episode’s premise focuses on the classic feud between Eric Cartman and his mother. An official summary of the episode reads: “Cartman faces his mother in a battle of wills as an epic conflict unfolds that threatens the very existence of South Park.”
